
Deputy Finance Minister Urges GIRSAL Board to Drive Agricultural Growth
August 14, 2025 Finance 0 CommentThe Deputy Minister for Finance, Mr. Thomas Nyarko-Ampem, has urged the new Governing Board of the Ghana Incentive-Based Risk-Sharing System for Agricultural Lending Ltd (GIRSAL) to stay focused on achieving results that will enhance the agricultural sector.
He said this during the inauguration of the board on Tuesday in Accra.
He stated that there was a need for private sector investment in agriculture, an essential objective of the government’s development.
The Minister congratulated the board members and reminded them of GIRSAL’s strategic role in transforming the agricultural sector.
In his remarks, the Chairperson of the Board, Prof. Richard Jinks Bani, thanked the President for the nomination and assured that the board would work to make agriculture more inclusive.
He noted that the members are prepared to serve with integrity and deliver on their mandate.
Other members include Mr. Nicholas Afrifa, Dr. Kwesi Korboe, Ms. Alberta Akosa, Mr. Agbesi Kwadzo Dzakpasu, Mr. William Wilson Asbleke, and Ms. Faustina Effah-Boadi.
