Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring & Evaluation Division

The Planning, Budget, Monitoring & Evaluation Division (PBMED) is responsible for providing technical leadership in the development, costing and implementation of communication related plans whilst putting the necessary systems in place for the monitoring and evaluating of programmes, projects and activities of the Department. This Division also advices Management on the viability of investment projects and provides regular reports and updates on investment performance.

PBME Division is made up of three units, namely, Planning & Budgeting, Monitoring & Evaluation and Public Investment.


UNITS UNDER PBME DIVISION


Planning and Budgeting Unit (PBU)

The Unit coordinates and supports the development of programme, project, operational and activity plans across all Divisions of the Department. It is also responsible for giving technical support to the development of Divisional-Activity Budgets and a Composite Annual Budget for the Department as a whole. It also liaises with relevant stakeholders (Internal & External) to process budget related requests and provides technical guidance to Management on budgetary matters.

The Monitoring and Evaluation Unit (MEU)

This Unit is responsible for developing and deploying an effective framework for measuring the various stages of implementation for programmes and projects of the Department as well as providing an objective basis for evaluating impact or results.

The Public Investment Unit (PIU)

This unit prescribes the method for the preparation, evaluation and execution of investment projects and provides a standard framework to guide project identification and planning, pre-feasibility studies, selection and budgeting, implementation and reporting of investment projects by the Department.
