The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong, has pledged his commitment to support the Garrison by providing the necessary resources to optimise operational effectiveness within the Northern Sector.
He made this commitment during his five-day tour of Units following his assumption of office, where he inspected key installations, facilities, and ongoing projects within the units, committing to support their completion.
He received detailed briefings on the operational, administrative, and logistical statuses of the Units and also commended the officers, soldiers, and defence civilian staff of the 6 Garrison for their teamwork, professionalism, and dedication despite various operational challenges.
He reaffirmed his support for their welfare and operational needs, highlighting plans underway to enhance the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and improve the lives of personnel and their families.
The CDS encouraged troops not to feel demoralised by the reduction of personnel deployed in UN Peace Support Operations, urging them to continue striving for a common goal for the betterment of the GAF and the country as a whole.
