80% District Assembly Common Fund released for developmental project – Ashanti Region Regional Minister

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has disclosed that 80 per cent of the District Assembly Common Fund has been made available for development projects with a focus on health, markets, water, and sanitation.

He added that a percentage has been earmarked for each of the sectors.

Dr. Amoakohene stated this during a region-wide working visit to gain firsthand insights into the operations and challenges faced by various District Assemblies and provide targeted support to promote development.

He emphasised the importance of direct engagements with the districts, saying it will help them to identify challenges and provide the needed support, and urged staff to provide unwavering support to the DCEs to effectively implement the government’s agenda.

The Minister also inspected several projects, including Agenda 111 projects, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to completing them.

He and his team visited the Ahafo Ano South West and Ahafo Ano South East Districts to meet with District Chief Executives, District Coordinating Directors, and staff to discuss their roles, responsibilities, and challenges.

Dr. Amoakohene also paid courtesy calls on traditional authorities in Kunsu and Adugyama to foster mutual understanding and collaboration with development partners.
