The Eastern Regional Minister, Mrs Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, has assured residents of Koforidua Zongo that the reconstruction of the roads will be done soon to ease movement and boost development.
The assurance came during her address to Muslim worshippers at the Koforidua Central Mosque during their Eid al-Adha celebration, where she also called for peace, unity, and compassion.
Mrs Awatey said the long-awaited road project will bring relief to residents, traders, and commuters in the Zongo community and adjoining areas, adding that the works will improve transportation, reduce travel difficulties, and accelerate development in the area.
The Minister commended the Muslim community for its contributions to education, commerce, and social cohesion in the region and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting all faith-based groups and promoting inclusive development.
She noted that the road works form part of wider efforts to upgrade infrastructure and improve living conditions across the region.
