Ghana has welcomed President Donald J. Trump’s proposed peace framework aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
In a release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday in Accra, it stated that the Government of the Republic of Ghana reaffirms its unwavering commitment to global peace, stability and principles of international cooperation.
“Ghana believes that any initiative, which prioritizes dialogue, mutual respect and the cessation of hostilities, deserves serious consideration by the International community
The proposed framework underscores the importance of protecting civilian lives, restoring territorial integrity and fostering conditions for long term reconciliation”, it added.
It said as a nation with proud tradition of peacekeeping and mediation, Ghana stands ready to support constructive efforts that advance these goals.
“We encourage all parties to engage in the negotiations in good faith and to place the welfare of their people above political differences”, it added.
According to the release, Ghana remains committed to working alongside regional and global partners to ensure that peace, security and prosperity prevail in every part of the world.
