Ghana Navy, US Military Group Deepen Bilateral Cooperation

The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Eastern Naval Command (ENC), Commodore Solomon Asiedu-Larbi, has met with a delegation from the United States Military Group at the US Embassy to discuss bilateral naval cooperation and future capacity-building initiatives.

The meeting, held on Wednesday in Accra, focused on aligning the five-year strategic training and support programmes of the United States Military Group with the operational priorities of the Eastern Naval Command, particularly the Special Boat Squadron.

Commodore Asiedu-Larbi outlined the Command’s extensive maritime security responsibilities across Ghana’s coastal metropolis and revealed ongoing collaboration with maritime stakeholders and international partners in surveillance, joint patrols, and interdiction operations.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening defence cooperation, enhancing operational readiness, and promoting maritime stability in the Gulf of Guinea.
