The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Mr Samuel Nartey George, has welcomed a delegation from the Right to Information (RTI) Commission as part of efforts to strengthen institutional cooperation and advance the effective implementation of the Right to Information Act, 2019 (Act 989).
The delegation, led by the Commission’s Executive Secretary, Madam Genevieve Shirley Lartey, Esq., included members of the newly inaugurated Governing Board: Board Chair Dr James Asante, Board Member Mr Kobby Woyome, and Board Secretary Ms Christine Yieleh-Chireh.
During the courtesy call on Monday, Mr George confirmed the Ministry’s commitment to working closely with the Commission to ensure the full realisation of the objectives of the RTI Act.
Discussions focused on strategic areas of collaboration between the Ministry and the Commission, particularly in information management, digital governance, and the promotion of public access to information.
The engagement outlined the importance of coordinated institutional efforts in enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficient public service delivery.
