The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Mr Samuel Nartey George, has confirmed the Ministry’s commitment to delivering inclusive, secure, and innovative digital services to position Ghana as a competitive digital hub in the sub-region.
He made this statement on Wednesday during the presentation of the Ministry’s 2025 Budget to the Parliamentary Select Committee on Information and Communications.
In his presentation, Mr George outlined the Ministry’s financial performance for 2025, including key allocations, expenditure levels, and the anticipated impact of investments on major programs.
He highlighted progress in areas such as digital infrastructure expansion, cybersecurity readiness, e-government systems, and various innovation initiatives.
The Minister also described improvements in policy implementation, capacity-building efforts, and stakeholder engagement, as indicated by the non-financial performance indicators. He emphasised that these developments are critical for strengthening Ghana’s digital landscape.
Looking ahead, Mr George presented the 2026 sector outlook, which focuses on accelerating broadband penetration, scaling national digital platforms, strengthening data protection and cybersecurity measures, and promoting digital entrepreneurship. He reiterated the Ministry’s pledge to advance Ghana’s digital transformation agenda and stressed the importance of aligning technological investments with national development goals.
