August 27, 2025 Communication 0 CommentThe Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Mr. Mohammed Adam Sukparu, has emphasised the key role of digital technology, innovation, and partnerships as Africa embraces the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Speaking at the Africa Business Festival: “The CEO’s Connect Summit” last Thursday in Accra, he highlighted that digital tools and platforms have become essential for competitiveness and global relevance.
He stated, “Under the leadership of President Mahama, Ghana is actively implementing bold policies and investments to establish a digitally enabled economy, ranging from e-governance platforms to digital financial inclusion and broadband expansion into rural communities, ensuring no one is left behind.”
The Deputy Minister further articulated the Ministry’s commitment to supporting startups, FinTechs, and entrepreneurs, aiming to position Ghana as a hub for business and technology in Africa. He noted that the future of African business lies in digital trade and innovation, mentioning that e-commerce and digital platforms can help African entrepreneurs access new markets, scale globally, and transform industries.
Mr. Sukparu stressed the importance of moving beyond being mere consumers of technology to becoming producers and innovators. He called for robust collaboration between governments, the private sector, and academia to build resilient digital economies capable of competing on the global stage.
He urged entrepreneurs to adopt digital tools as a growth strategy and encouraged investors to strengthen their partnerships with Africa’s thriving tech ecosystem. “The future of Africa’s business lies not just in its markets, but in its innovation. If we digitise Africa, we globalise Africa,” he declared.
Mr. Sukparu extended his gratitude to the organisers, Enzee Events and the Canada Ghana Chamber of Commerce, for creating a vital platform for dialogue among policymakers, entrepreneurs, and investors.
