Chief of Staff Urges Private Sector to Drive Ghana’s Economic Growth

The Chief of Staff, Mr Julius Debrah, has called for a stronger partnership between the private sector and the government to foster economic transformation in Ghana.

Mr Debrah emphasised that the future of Ghana’s economy hinges on collaboration, urging businesses to invest boldly and innovate consistently. “The government must create an enabling environment, while the private sector should be willing to scale beyond its comfort zone,” he stated.

The Kwahu Business Forum, an annual gathering of business leaders, policymakers, and innovators, serves as a critical platform for discussing the country’s economic prospects. Mr Debrah highlighted the need for the private sector to formalise operations where necessary and urged established leaders to mentor emerging entrepreneurs, sharing their expertise to drive growth.

He also stressed the government’s responsibility to ensure policy clarity, maintain macroeconomic discipline, and improve infrastructure. Notably, Debrah reiterated the pivotal role of manufacturing in job creation, strengthening exports, and deepening local supply chains.

As Ghana navigates its economic landscape, the Chief of Staff’s remarks underscore the vital role of collaboration in achieving sustainable growth.
