Works and Housing Minister Meets Dutch Ambassador to Discuss Infrastructure Projects

The Minister for Works and Housing, Mr. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, has met the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ghana, H.E. Jeroen Verheul, and his delegation to discuss their commitment to investing in high-impact public infrastructure projects within the works, housing, and water resources sector.

The meeting held on Thursday in Accra, was part of ongoing discussions initiated by the Minister to explore financing opportunities from Invest International, a Dutch state-owned financing organization, for infrastructure projects in the sector, specifically targeting water supply systems and sustainable nature-based sea defense initiatives.

The Ambassador pledged to provide the Ministry with the necessary grant for the execution of water supply systems in Tamale and Damongo, as well as sustainable nature-based solutions for Ghana’s 80 km coastal stretch, which remains vulnerable to erosion.

The Minister said when completed, these projects will offer long-term solutions to the challenges faced by Ghanaians living in areas affected by water access issues and coastal erosion.
