Ghana Receives Fertilizer Donation from Morocco to Strengthen Farming Sector

Ghana has received a donation of 2,000 metric tonnes of fertilizer from the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco to boost Agricultural Development.

Delivering his speech on Monday in Accra, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa, praised Morocco for its partnership with Ghana in fostering strong diplomacy and African unity.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs engages in impactful diplomacy, and the work we do directly benefits peace,” he said.

He noted that the donation is part of a larger strategic collaboration with Morocco aimed at food security and sustainable agricultural development, which includes plans to build a fertilizer facility in Ghana.

The Moroccan Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Imane Ouaadil, stated that the fertilizer will help Ghanaian farmers increase productivity and achieve food security goals.

She stated that the donation was a sign of friendship between the two nations.

The Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, Mr. John Dumelo, who received the fertilizer on behalf of the Minister, thanked the Kingdom of Morocco for the timely support.

He assured stakeholders that the fertilizer would be distributed transparently and effectively to benefit hardworking farmers across the country.
