President Mahama Kicks Off ‘Resetting Ghana’ Tour of the Savanna Region

President John Dramani Mahama will begin a two-day ‘Resetting Ghana’ working tour of the Savanna region on Friday, with a packed schedule of project launches, inspections, and community engagements across the area.

His first stop will be Sawla, where he will launch the National BSTEM programme for basic schools. He will then proceed to inspect the ongoing Sawla-Wa highway and Bole-Tinga road rehabilitation projects under the Big Push Programme.

Also on Day One, President Mahama will cut sods for the Bole District 24-hour Economy model market, oversee development projects at the Bole College of Education, and inaugurate the Mahama ICT Centre in Damango, the Savanna regional capital.

A number of education projects are also lined up for commissioning.

The President will also pay courtesy calls on traditional leaders in the region, including the Yagbonwura.

On Saturday, May 23rd, the President, joined by key sector Ministers overseeing Roads and Highways, Education, Youth Development and Empowerment, alongside other senior government officials, will meet directly with the people of the region.

The engagement will cover his administration’s achievements, ongoing policy interventions, and give residents the floor to raise concerns.

The citizens’ forum, scheduled for the Ndewura Jakpa SHS Assembly and Dining Hall, will also feature the Regional Minister, who will outline development projects across the region’s seven districts and share initiatives aimed at improving lives.

The President is further expected to inspect the proposed Savanna Regional Hospital site before concluding his tour.
