President Mahama Arrives in Brazzaville for Sassou N’Guesso Inauguration

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, to attend the investiture ceremony of President Denis Sassou N’Guesso, who has been re-elected for a new five-year term as President of the Republic of Congo.

President Mahama flew to Brazzaville on Wednesday after launching his flagship Free Primary Healthcare policy at the Shai-Osudoku District Hospital in Dodowa earlier in the day, capping a full day that also included the announcement of government measures to ease rising fuel prices at the pump.

The investiture ceremony is scheduled for Thursday morning, after which President Mahama is expected to return to Accra.

President Sassou N’Guesso, one of Africa’s longest-serving leaders, has been re-elected for a fresh five-year term at the helm of the central African nation.
