President John Dramani Mahama arrived in New York on Sunday afternoon, accompanied by First Lady Mrs Lordina Dramani Mahama, to participate in the 80th United Nations General Assembly meetings.
The President was welcomed by some Ghanaians resident in the United States gathered to welcome the President, cheering him for his administration’s reforms that have begun to impact the economy.
The diaspora community’s presence at the arrival demonstrated support for the government’s policy direction since taking office in January.
Mahama’s participation in the UN General Assembly comes as Ghana seeks to strengthen its international partnerships and attract foreign investment under his administration’s development agenda.
