Ghana Maritime Authority Explores 3D Boat Manufacturing Partnership with RusselSmith

The Ghana Maritime Authority has welcomed Mr Kayode Adeleke, co-founder of RusselSmith, to explore a strategic partnership aimed at pioneering 3D boat manufacturing and establishing sustainable maritime corridors in Ghana.

This collaboration, facilitated by the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), seeks to leverage cutting-edge 3D printing technology to boost the country’s blue economy goals.

During the discussions on Wednesday, the Director-General, Dr Kamal-Deen Ali (Naval Capt Rtd), noted that the initiative aligns with Ghana’s national transition plan for green fuels and the government’s vision to enhance inland water connectivity.

Mr Adeleke emphasised the importance of establishing a local 3D manufacturing facility, noting that it would offer a sustainable alternative to traditional timber-based boat construction.

This initiative, he argued, would significantly reduce deforestation and lower long-term maintenance costs, contributing to a more sustainable approach to maritime operations.
