Gala Event Opens Africa Oil Week in Ghana

The Africa Oil Week (AOW): Energy 2025 conference began with an opening gala at the Presidency of Ghana on Tuesday evening. The event was attended by more than 450 guests from government, industry, and investment sectors.

The gala was held in partnership with ExxonMobil and Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC). Her Excellency Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang hosted the gathering and welcomed delegates, noting the event strengthens collaboration between the government and the energy conference.

A senior delegation from ExxonMobil delivered a keynote address, reaffirming the company’s ongoing work and future plans in Africa’s upstream sector. They expressed a continued focus on exploration and forming local partnerships.

The evening also recognized GNPC’s 40th anniversary, celebrating its role as Ghana’s national energy company.

Paul Sinclair, CEO of AOW:Energy, said the gala reflected a shared focus on partnership and development within Africa’s energy industry.

The conference continues this week with meetings and sessions focused on upstream investment and resource development.
