Communication Ministry Equips Regional Ministers with Laptops for One Million Coders Rollout

The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations has distributed laptops to all Regional Ministers and Members of Parliament to support the implementation of the One Million Coders Programme (OMCP) at the constituency level.

The devices are expected to be deployed at training centres across the country, forming part of efforts to ensure a smooth rollout of the initiative. The nationwide distribution marks a significant step as the Ministry completes preparations for Phase Two of the programme.

According to the Ministry, the move would strengthen constituency-level ownership and improve the effectiveness of training delivery as the programme expands.

The One Million Coders Programme, a flagship digital skills initiative, seeks to equip one million Ghanaian youth with relevant digital competencies to enhance employability and innovation in the country’s growing technology sector.

Phase Two of the programme is scheduled to begin on April 11, 2026, in selected constituencies nationwide.

With Regional Ministers now equipped to support operations, training centres are expected to be fully functional ahead of the rollout.
