CID, Defence Intelligence deepen collaboration to boost security operations

The Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, has led a delegation to the Department of Defence Intelligence at the General Headquarters of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration and enhance operational excellence between the two institutions.

Speaking during the meeting on Thursday, COP Donkor expressed appreciation to the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Stephen Woseadzikpo Kweku Parbey, for his continuous cooperation, support, and commitment to information sharing and reaffirmed the CID’s unwavering commitment to supporting the operations of the General Headquarters Department of Defence Intelligence (GHQ DI).

According to COP Donkor, the visit marked an important step toward deepening institutional ties, building personnel capacity, and sharpening operational skills through structured training programmes and specialised courses.

She noted that closer collaboration would enable both institutions to share technical expertise, draw valuable lessons from each other, and ultimately improve operational effectiveness.

She emphasised that sustained cooperation between the CID and Defence Intelligence was crucial to strengthening professionalism and enhancing the country’s overall security architecture.

Major General Parbey commended the Ghana Police Service for its long-standing and productive partnership with the Ghana Armed Forces.

He expressed interest in further enhancing collaboration between GHQ DI and the Ghana Police Service, particularly in the areas of intelligence sharing and capacity building.
