Health Minister asks medical professionals to strengthen the fight against NCDs

The Minister of Health, Mr Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has charged medical professionals to intensify the fight against Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) through innovation, teamwork, and accountability.

Speaking as the Guest of Honour at the 23rd Annual General and Scientific Conference of the Medical Superintendents Group at Kwahu, he commended the tireless dedication of health professionals who serve under difficult conditions.

He outlined plans to establish a dedicated fund that would support health sector financing and strengthen Ghana’s response to emerging health challenges.

Mr Akandoh urged medical leaders not to “sit on the fence” but to lead reforms in service delivery, adding that Ghana’s success in combating NCDs depends on discipline, efficiency, and collective commitment to quality care.

The 23rd Annual General and Scientific Conference of the Medical Superintendents Group was held under the theme, “Leading the Fight Against NCDs: The Role of the Medical Superintendent in Integrated Care.”
