The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry (MoTAI) has inaugurated a five-member Fixed Assets Coordinating Unit (FACU) to strengthen the management and accountability of the Ministry’s assets.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Director of the Ministry, Mr. Noah Tumfo, charged the members to conduct a thorough review of all fixed assets and present a comprehensive report on their findings.

He urged them to establish a credible and up-to-date asset register to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the Ministry’s operations.

Mr. Tumfo emphasised that the FACU’s work will be central to strengthening institutional capacity, ensuring proper valuation of assets, and aligning the Ministry’s resource management practices with national standards.

The Chairperson, Madam Alberta Claudia Annang, acknowledged the enormous responsibilities that come with the role but pledged the committee’s commitment to deliver on its mandate.

“We understand the significance of this assignment and assure the Ministry of our dedication to ensuring accountability, transparency, and efficiency in asset management,” she said.

The committee comprises Alberta Claudia Annang – Chairperson, Patience Acolatse – Financial Representative, Emmanuel Narh – Acting Head of Legal, Frederick Tettey Angmor – Procurement Representative, and Jefter Mensah – Secretary.

The inauguration of the FACU is expected to enhance the Ministry’s asset management framework and ensure proper documentation to support effective decision-making.
