The Director-General of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Major Dr Joseph Bikanyi Kuyon (Rtd), has reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to deepening collaboration with international partners.
He said this when the Deputy Head of the European Union Mission in Ghana, Mr Jonas Claes, paid a courtesy call to him on Wednesday.
This precedes a key engagement where the EU would donate modern ICT equipment to bolster NADMO’s disaster preparedness and response capabilities.
Major Dr Kuyon described the visit as a strong signal of the growing partnership between Ghana and the European Union, emphasising that effective disaster management requires robust collaboration, noting that the EU’s support will enhance NADMO’s ability to safeguard lives and property.
Mr Claes affirmed the EU’s commitment to supporting NADMO’s operations, noting that the engagement marks the beginning of closer cooperation, particularly in understanding and strengthening NADMO’s crisis management systems.
