The Ministry of Health has inaugurated members of the Ministerial Advisory Board for the Ministry.
The event, officiated by Her Ladyship Justice Sedinam Awo Kwadam, Justice of the High Court, marks the Ministry’s renewed commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and evidence-based policymaking in Ghana’s health sector.
The event took place today in Accra.
The Minister for Health, Mr Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, highlighted the importance of the Board as a statutory body mandated under the Civil Service Act to foster collaboration between the Ministry and its stakeholders.
He said government, under the leadership of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, remains focused on expanding access to quality and affordable healthcare through flagship programmes such as the Free Primary Health Care policy and the Mahama Cares Programme, which aim to strengthen specialist services and advance Universal Health Coverage.
Mr Akandoh, who is also the chairman of the board, expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in the members, assuring that the team will work diligently to provide sound advice in the interest of national progress.
He called for unity, mutual respect, and shared purpose among members to drive the “reset agenda” and deliver the quality health outcomes Ghanaians deserve.
