MobileMoney Fintech Ltd. Launches Initiative to Support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Across Ghana

A nationwide initiative to support six hundred (600) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with practical training in financial literacy, digital payments, credit readiness and business growth has been launched in Kumasi.

The Initiative, which is being implemented by MobileMoney Fintech Ltd. (MMFL), through its “Wo Nkɔsoɔ” programme, will help entrepreneurs improve record-keeping, manage cash flow, build savings habits and become better positioned for credit, insurance and future investment.

The programme targets informal sector operators, including women-led businesses, fashion designers (dressmakers and tailors), hairdressers and farmers, many of whom support households and communities while operating with limited access to formal financial tools.

In collaboration with Universal Merchant Bank, Kola Market and the national associations representing these groups, MMFL will deliver hands-on training in digital banking, fraud prevention, business formalisation and credit readiness.

Addressing participants, Mr Charles Osei Owusu, Senior Manager, Business Development, MMFL, noted that the initiative was inspired by the everyday struggles of entrepreneurs who worked hard but often lacked the financial systems needed to grow sustainably.

“We engage business owners who have the talent, determination and customer base to grow; yet many still lack access to the financial tools they need to scale up. This initiative is designed to bridge that gap with practical support tailored to their needs,” Mr Owusu said.

He added that MMFL regarded financial inclusion as beyond access to transfers to include access to savings, credit, insurance and a stronger financial identity for all Ghanaians.

The launch took place during the National Conference of the Ghana National Tailors and Designers Association.

Under the initiative, the programme will roll out across Accra, Takoradi and Tamale this year through four trade-specific training sessions aimed at reaching about 600 entrepreneurs throughout the country.
