The Ministry of the Interior has imposed an immediate restriction on the use of motorbikes in Binduri Township and its surrounding areas in the Upper East Region following an attack on a military patrol team by unknown assailants.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the directive is part of urgent measures to restore calm and strengthen security operations in the area.
The restriction is expected to help maintain law and order, protect lives and property, and support ongoing efforts by security agencies.
The Ministry called on chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth groups, and residents of Binduri and nearby communities to remain calm and exercise restraint during this period.
It urged citizens to rely on peaceful and lawful means to address any grievances, emphasising the importance of cooperation in restoring lasting peace.
The statement warned that anyone who defies the directive will face arrest and prosecution in accordance with the law.
The Ministry of the Interior reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the safety and security of all citizens as efforts continue to stabilise the situation in the area.
