The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has urged Muslims across Ghana to remain united and uphold the true teachings of Islam, which he said promote peace, tolerance, and mutual respect.
He made the call on Wednesday, in Accra, when the Ahlus-Sunnah Wal Jama’ah Muslim community paid him a courtesy call.
Mr Mohammed-Mubarak said the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) should continue to guide Muslims’ actions, particularly in efforts to promote harmony, understanding, and peaceful coexistence.
He also extended Eid Mubarak wishes to the Muslim community and assured them of the ministry’s continued commitment to maintaining peace, security, and stability across the country.
The minister further expressed gratitude to the Muslim community for its compassion, solidarity, and prayers, saying such gestures serve as a strong source of encouragement, especially in difficult moments.
The Deputy National Chief Imam Sheikh Kamil Mohammed, who spoke on behalf of the delegation, thanked the minister for the warm reception and praised the ministry’s interventions on national security issues.
He also pledged the community’s continued support for national development.
