Government Donates 20 Pickup vehicles to the Ghana Immigration Service

The Government of Ghana, through the Ministry of the Interior, has donated 20 Nissan Navara pickup vehicles to the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) to enhance its operational capacity and improve mobility nationwide.

Speaking at a handing-over ceremony on Tuesday, in Accra, the Minister for the Interior, Mr Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, stressed the importance of accountability and urged officers to ensure the vehicles are used strictly for official purposes.

Mr Muntaka reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of security agencies in line with the President’s vision to enhance national security.

He also commended the GIS for its dedication and hard work, encouraging officers to continue to uphold professionalism in the performance of their duties.

Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the Service, the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Mr Samuel Basintale Amadu, described the donation as a clear demonstration of the President’s commitment to equipping security agencies.

He remarked that the gesture demonstrates the fulfilment of the President’s pledge to adequately resource the Immigration Service, enabling it to effectively carry out its mandate.

Mr Amadu assured the Minister that the vehicles would be responsibly deployed and properly maintained to support border patrols and other critical operational duties of the Service.
