Government has released a total amount of GHS139,329,463.37, to be disbursed to approximately 350,580 households constituting about 1.5 million Ghanaians, who will receive the 99th cycle disbursement of the LEAP Grant.
The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, who announced this at a press conference on Friday in Accra. She noted that this regular and sustained intervention remains a basis of Ghana’s social protection architecture and a direct reflection of the government’s reset agenda to serve every Ghanaian, especially the extremely poor and vulnerable.
The bi-monthly Leap grants to households is structed as follows: Households with one eligible member will receive GH₵320.00, Households with two eligible members will receive GH₵380.00, Households with three eligible members will receive GH₵440.00, and Households with four or more eligible members will receive GH₵530.00.
According to the minister, the timely disbursement of the grants since the beginning of this year is a direct outcome of the Government’s Reset Agenda, an agenda built on responsiveness, reliability, and a clear focus on the needs of the extremely poor and vulnerable.
“We are mindful that this period coincides with the festive season, which often places additional financial demands on households,” she said.
She stated the 99th cycle payment is therefore intended to provide essential support, enabling beneficiary households to partake more meaningfully in the Christmas festivities and approach the New Year with dignity and hope.
the minister disclosed that the Ministry of Finance has allocated GH¢1.1 billion to the LEAP programme for the coming period, describing it as the highest allocation since the programme began.
she said government plans to expand LEAP coverage to 400,000 households nationwide in 2026, and called on stakeholders at all levels to support many more extremely poor and vulnerable households.
“we disburse grants under the 99th cycle, we are doing more than transferring funds; we are sharing hope, upholding dignity, and demonstrating solidarity of the Government of His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama, to the people” she said.
