Ghana’s Embassy in Tehran to Reopen Amid Easing Tensions

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the Embassy of Ghana in Tehran, Iran, will resume operations effective Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

In a release issued by the ministry on Tuesday in Accra, it stated that the mission was temporarily closed in June to protect its staff during a period of heightened tension between Iran and Israel.

“Notwithstanding this decision, the Ministry will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that the safety of the Staff working in the Embassy and the Ghanaian community in Iran is not compromised,” it added.

The Ministry has pledged to provide periodic updates as needed.

“It wishes to assure the general public of its commitment to ensure the safety of Ghanaians in Iran.
