Ghana has officially accepted an invitation from Burkina Faso’s Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Gilbert Noël Ouédraogo and the Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Ghana, H.E. David Kabré, to participate as the guest country at Burkina Faso’s 22nd National Culture Week.

This is scheduled to take place in Bobo-Dioulasso from April 22 to May 2, 2026.

Speaking at the meeting, the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, affirmed Ghana’s commitment to strengthening cultural diplomacy between the two countries.

She stated that, despite political circumstances, Ghana and Burkina Faso continue to be united by longstanding historical and cultural bonds.

The minister noted that the festival offers a platform to empower young creatives, broaden avenues for artistic exhibition and foster commercial exchange within the creative sector.

She assured her counterpart of Ghana’s full participation, adding that the country would assemble a strong delegation to represent its cultural and creative industries.

Madam Gomashie referred to the initiative as a strategic deployment of culture to strengthen bilateral relations, foster people-to-people connections, and open up economic opportunities for creatives in both countries.

She stressed the importance of placing culture at the heart of national development and highlighted the role of such platforms in advancing youth employment and regional integration.

Burkina Faso’s Minister of Culture, Gilbert Ouédraogo, confirmed his government’s commitment to working closely with Ghana to deliver a memorable celebration.
