The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed the public, especially Ghanaians planning to travel to the Republic of Senegal, that Senegalese authorities recommend vaccination against certain communicable diseases.
The Ministry, in a press release on Thursday in Accra, stated that vaccination against certain communicable diseases, notably yellow fever, DPT (diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus), measles, and hepatitis A and B, is recommended for the protection of travellers’ health and safety.
“However, presentation of vaccination certificates for these diseases is not mandatory for entry into the Senegalese territory,” it added.
According to the release, Ghanaian travellers are, nonetheless, encouraged to consult healthcare providers for their routine vaccinations before travel, in order to safeguard their health while abroad.
It said the Ministry remains committed to providing timely information to ensure the safety, welfare, and well-being of Ghanaian citizens travelling outside the country.
