The Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture has announced approved premix fuel prices for the current pricing window, alongside enforcement measures aimed at ensuring compliance across landing beach operations.
The announcement was made by the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Mrs Emelia Arthur, together with the National Premix Fuel Secretariat, on Friday in Accra.
She stated that the price per litre has been set at GHC 5.6, while a gallon will sell at GHC 25.2. A yellow gallon of seven gallons is priced at GHC 176.4.
“A 50-gallon blue drum will cost GHC 1,260, a 70-gallon drum GHC 1,764, and an 80-gallon drum GHC 2,016. We have also announced an approved Oil Marketing Company charge of GHC 73.062 per drum,” she added.
According to the minister, Landing Beach Committees will be required to adhere strictly to the approved rates, with monitoring measures expected to ensure compliance and curb price distortions within the distribution system.
She noted that the pricing structure is intended to support artisanal fishing communities while maintaining order in premix fuel distribution.
She tasked the National Premix Fuel Secretariat with overseeing implementation and handling inquiries through its official contact line +233 55 442 0970.
