The Deputy Head of Mission, H. E Jane Gasu Aheto, has stated that the Ghana Embassy has pledged its full support to Ghanaian citizens living in the United States and announced the full restoration of multi-year U.S. visa for Ghanaians.
She said this at the 40th-anniversary of the GaDangme Association last Saturday in the United States.
“The Embassy stands in readiness to offer support and assistance to our fellow Ghanaian brothers and sisters who live and work here,” she stated.
The Deputy head of Mission also emphasized the group’s role in unifying diverse ethnicities under the Council of Ghanaian Associations (COGA) and celebrated the Gadangme Association’s four decades of fostering community and promoting Ghana’s image.
She noted a key development shared with the community was the formal resolution of a recent diplomatic hurdle.
“After many deliberations, the restrictions on visas for Ghana have been restored,” once again, Ghanaians can be eligible for up to five-year multiple-entry visas,” she added.
She urged Ghanaians not to abuse the restored visa privileges and to adhere strictly to the governing rules.
The Deputy Head of Mission related on the theme, “Ready to Rebuild, Restore, Revitalize,” with the government’s domestic “Reset Agenda.”
She outlined the administration’s focus on economic stability and a new 24-hour economy model designed to accelerate growth and create jobs.
She also noted President Mahama’s continental role, stating, “As the African Union’s Champion for Reparations, the President has been a leading voice on advancing the campaign for reparative justice on the African continent.”
