Comptroller-General of Immigration Appeals for New Office in Wenchi

The Comptroller-General of Immigration (CGI), Mr Samuel Basintale Amadu, has appealed to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Wenchi, Gloria Opoku Gyamfi, to allocate land for the construction of a modern office for the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) Sector Command.

He appealed during a courtesy call on the MCE on the second day of his working tour of the Bono Region.

Mr Amadu noted that the office in Wenchi was too small for the growing number of personnel and was in poor condition, emphasising the urgent need for a larger facility to support the daily operations of the Service.

Outlining his vision, he proposed strengthening welfare systems, introducing mutual health insurance coverage, expanding access to loan and credit schemes, and improving provident fund structures.

Madam Gyamfi, in response, praised the professionalism of GIS officers and their consistent collaboration with her office on matters of peace and security and assured Mr Amadu that the Municipal Assembly would provide a suitable location for the new office and wished him success on his regional tour.

Mr Amadu also visited the Tainso, Nsawkaw, Banda, and Wenchi Sector Commands, where he interacted with officers and assessed their operational challenges
