Communication Ministry Inaugurates Entity Tender Committee

The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation has inaugurated a 10-member Entity Tender Committee to oversee procurement activities and ensure compliance with the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663), as amended.

Chaired by the Sector Minister, Mr. Samuel Nartey George, the committee is tasked with upholding principles of transparency, fairness, and accountability in all procurement processes while protecting the public purse through effective oversight.

The swearing-in ceremony, held on Wednesday in Accra, was administered by the Chief State Attorney from the Office of the Attorney-General and Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Marina Appiah Opare, who led the committee members in taking both the Official and Secrecy Oaths.

Under the provisions of the Public Procurement Act, the Entity Tender Committee is mandated to review and approve annual procurement plans and their quarterly updates, confirm the range of acceptable costs for procurement items.

The Act is also to facilitate contract administration, monitor compliance with all procurement reporting requirements, and assist the Head of the Entity in ensuring the proper disposal of stores, vehicles, and equipment per the law.
