Children Support Fund for August 6 Helicopter Crash Victims Reaches GHS 7.3 Million

The Children Support Fund established for victims of the August 6, 2025 helicopter tragedy has received total donations amounting to GHS 7,292,135.00 and US$20,000.00.

Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Coordinator of the Fund, Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, released the latest list of donors covering the period from September 12 to 24, 2025.

The fund was established to ensure the welfare of children whose parents died in the helicopter crash.

Fifteen donors contributed during the reporting period, including corporate entities, government agencies, and individuals. Notable contributors include Risk Management Ltd., Federated Commodities, Fidelity Bank, Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs agencies.

Michael Kpakpo Allotey, Metropolitan Chief Executive for Accra, appeared among individual donors, alongside Dr. Li & Chen Guo Wei, Dzokuni Awoenam Kwadzo Carl, Isaiah Senyo Mawunyegah, Stephen Abugri, Iddrisu Fauzita, Paul Nii Adom Badger, and Padi Keteku.

Corporate contributions came from Willbeck Consult, Sida Global Logistics & Engineering Ltd., and other business entities demonstrating private sector support for the children’s welfare initiative.

Dr. Sawyerr announced that donations can be made through Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited accounts at the Stanbic Heights Branch in Accra. The fund maintains two accounts: a Ghana Cedi account (9040013628372) and a US Dollar account (9040013628534).

Donors can make cheques and bank drafts payable to “Children Support Fund 6825,” while mobile money payments are also accepted through designated payment platforms. The multiple payment channels aim to facilitate contributions from various donor categories.

The Children Support Fund represents the government’s response to support families affected by the August 6 helicopter crash. The fund focuses specifically on ensuring the welfare and future needs of children who lost parents in the tragedy.

The fund continues accepting donations as the government works to establish long-term welfare arrangements for affected children.
