
The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP), Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has officially launched the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Policy 2025 aimed at modernizing ICT systems, strengthening coordination, and improving service delivery across all Directorates, Departments, Secretariats, and Councils of the Ministry.
Speaking at the event on Friday, in Accra, the minister described the ICT Policy as a significant milestone in the Ministry’s efforts to advance digital transformation within its operations.
She noted that the framework provides a strategic direction for integrating technology into the Ministry’s core work to enhance efficiency, accountability, transparent service delivery, harmonize data management and ICT governance across all entities under the Ministry.
According to her, the Policy focuses on thematic areas such as data protection and security, digital infrastructure, and capacity building, adding that these interventions are crucial for strengthening institutional systems, ensuring that technology is effectively used to advance gender equality, protect children, and promote social inclusion.
Dr. Naa Momo encouraged staff of the ministry to actively utilize digital platforms and social media to project the Ministry’s work and called for strong commitment to the Policy’s implementation, stressing that embracing digital innovation is essential for driving institutional growth and transformation.
The Director of the Research, Statistics and Information Management Directorate, Dr. Sylvester Kyei-Gyamfi, who spoke on behalf of the Chief Director, Dr. Afisah Zakariah, expressed appreciation to all attendees and reiterated that the Policy provides a clear roadmap for system reforms and improved collaboration.
He noted that effective implementation will require continuous sensitization and capacity building to ensure staff ownership and long-term sustainability.
