National Service personnel at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences (GAAS) have received education on the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2019 (Act 989) as part of efforts to strengthen awareness on access to public information and promote open governance. The educational session, held on Tuesday, 24th March 2026, was facilitated by the institution’s Information Officer for two National Service personnel stationed at the Academy’s front desk.

During the session, the Information Officer provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the RTI Act and its significance in ensuring transparency, accountability, and citizens’ access to information held by public institutions. The Officer explained that the law serves as an important tool for empowering citizens to actively participate in governance by enabling them to request and obtain relevant public information needed for informed decision-making.
