Trade Minister Launches Made-In-Ghana FIFA World Cup 2026 Expo

The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has officially launched the Made-in-Ghana FIFA World Cup 2026 Expo, reaffirming the Government of Ghana’s commitment to expanding the country’s global trade footprint and promoting Ghanaian enterprise on the world stage.

At the launch held on Friday in Accra, the Minister described the forthcoming Expo as a strategic opportunity to showcase Ghanaian excellence on one of the world’s most prominent global stages.

The minister stated that the event will create direct market opportunities for Ghanaian businesses by connecting them with international buyers, investors, and the Ghanaian diaspora.

She highlighted the strength and diversity of Ghana’s export sector, citing opportunities in textiles, agro-processing, natural beauty products, and digital innovation as key areas of focus for the Expo.

Mrs Ofosu-Adjare said the initiative aligns with the Government’s broader vision of promoting non-traditional exports, supporting local industries, and creating sustainable economic growth through international trade.

The minister further assured stakeholders of the Ministry’s continued support in opening doors for Ghanaian enterprises and indicated that the Expo is designed to translate into lasting business partnerships and tangible export gains for participating companies.

“The FIFA World Cup presents more than a sporting spectacle. It offers Ghana an unprecedented opportunity to deepen its international commercial presence,” she said.

Madam Ofosu-Adjare urged Ghanaian businesses to seize the opportunity presented by the Expo and to position themselves for global competitiveness.  She emphasised that the Ministry remains committed to facilitating their participation and ensuring maximum benefit from the platform.

The Minister called on local manufacturers, agro-processors, and entrepreneurs across all sectors to register and take advantage of the Expo’s opportunities in international markets.

Representatives of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) described the initiative as a strong platform to promote Ghanaian products and strengthen the country’s standing in the global marketplace.
