Made In Ghana Fair to Be Revived – Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry

The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has announced the revival of the Made-in-Ghana Fair as a platform to enable Ghanaian beverage producers to showcase their products and build consumer confidence in homegrown brands.

“The fair will serve as an important tool for promoting local products and enhancing the image of Ghanaian brands, both locally and internationally,” she said.

Mrs Ofosu-Adjare stated this on Saturday at the 10th Edition of the Ghana Beverage Awards held in Accra, where she delivered remarks on behalf of the President.

She emphasised the significant contribution of the beverage industry to Ghana’s economy, noting that the sector spans agriculture, manufacturing, retail, and hospitality, touching every aspect of daily life.

She stated that the industry plays a vital role in national economic development, generating employment and supporting livelihoods across the country.

The Minister praised the resilience of industry leaders and urged them to sustain efforts to improve the quality of locally produced beverages and strengthen their competitiveness in the global market.

She urged beverage producers, agro-processors and all stakeholders across the industry to take advantage of the government’s initiatives and actively participate in the Made-in-Ghana Fair, emphasising that the platforms exist to grow local brands and open new international markets for Ghanaian products.

Mrs Ofosu-Adjare announced the Feed the Industry Initiative, designed to build stronger linkages between local agriculture and beverage manufacturing while providing crucial support to local farmers and manufacturers.

She further announced an upcoming Agribusiness Policy to accelerate industry growth through value addition and provide a strategic framework for businesses to expand their operations and market reach.

The Minister indicated that these measures collectively reflect the Government’s broader commitment to promoting non-traditional exports, strengthening local industries and creating sustainable economic growth.

Global Media Alliance Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ernest Boateng, also addressed the gathering, underscoring the need for the beverage sector to embrace emerging technologies, with particular emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Mr Boateng encouraged industry players to adopt AI-driven tools to help predict market trends and better understand consumer preferences, noting that the technology has the potential to transform operations, product quality, and overall efficiency.
