President Mahama Wraps Up Bono Region Tour After Inspecting Airport Site, Road, and School Projects in Sunyani

President John Dramani Mahama has concluded his two-day Resetting Ghana Tour of the Bono Region after inspecting a series of infrastructure projects across the Sunyani municipality on Thursday.

The tour covered a proposed airport site, a ring road, and ongoing school construction works funded by GETFund.

The President visited the proposed site for the Bono Regional Airport at Nsuatre near Sunyani, which is being developed by the government through the Ghana Airport Company to establish Sunyani as an aviation hub.

He also inspected the 34-kilometre Sunyani Outer Ring Road being executed by Kofi Job Constructions, designed to ease traffic flow and provide a route around the Sunyani city centre.

At Sunyani Senior High School, President Mahama assessed GETFund projects that include a two-storey 12-unit Science Classroom Block, a two-storey 12-unit science laboratory block, dormitory blocks for boys and girls, a washing area, lavatory, classroom block, toilet block, and four semi-detached staff bungalows.

He urged the contractor to accelerate work and meet the completion deadline.

President Mahama also visited the newly commissioned National Signals Bureau Bono Regional Office before addressing a durbar of chiefs and people of the Bono Region at the Great Hall of the University of Energy and Renewable Natural Resources (UENR) in Sunyani.

He ended the tour with the presentation of grants to 245 beneficiaries of the Adwumawura programme in Sunyani.
