
Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Commissions Sefwi Wiawso Passport Office
January 7, 2026 Foreign Affairs 0 CommentThe Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr James Gyakye Quayson, has commissioned the new passport application centre in Sefwi Wiawso, allowing residents to obtain the document without travelling to other regions.
Speaking at the ceremony on Tuesday in Sefwi Wiawso, he outlined the Ministry’s passport administration reforms, which aim to improve efficiency, transparency, and security.
The minister handed over five (5) passports to applicants who applied for their passports in the Sefwi Wiawso district at the event.
On his part, the Western North Regional Minister, Mr Wilbert Petty Brentum, described the new centre as an important advance for the region, adding that the facility brings passport services directly to residents.
He noted that the facility brings passport services closer to residents and encouraged officers to uphold professionalism, integrity and transparency in service delivery.
The event was attended by District Chief Executives in the region, the Regional Deputy NADMO Director, Heads of Security Agencies in the region, Religious and Traditional leaders, among others.
