Minister For Gender Joins Chief of Staff to Launch World Vision Ghana’s 2026-2030 Strategy

The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, joined the Chief of Staff, Mr Julius Debrah, to officially launch World Vision Ghana’s 2026-2030 Country Strategy and unveil a commemorative memento.

The event, held on Wednesday in Accra, was under the theme ” Harnessing Opportunities for the Protection and Empowerment of Every Child -HOPE for Every Child.”

Dr Naa Momo Lartey described the strategy as timely and aligned with Ghana’s national development priorities, noting that it reinforces the shared responsibility of ensuring that every child, regardless of background, is protected, nurtured, and empowered to reach their full potential.

She emphasised that while the government remains committed to advancing child protection and welfare, the complexity of challenges confronting children, including malnutrition, learning gaps, child labour, and vulnerabilities in underserved communities, requires strong and sustained partnerships.

Dr Lartey noted that the Ministry, through its Departments of Children and Social Welfare, has maintained a productive collaboration with World Vision Ghana, contributing to the strengthening of family-based care systems, child protection mechanisms, and community-level response systems to address abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

She said the comprehensive five-year plan would respond to persistent challenges affecting children, particularly in rural and remote communities where literacy, numeracy, and learning outcomes remain a concern.

She stressed that the success of the strategy would depend on inclusive partnerships and called on all stakeholders to contribute collectively towards achieving its targets.

According to World Vision Ghana, the strategy seeks to reach approximately 2.8 million children by 2030, with a focus on ensuring that children grow up healthy, educated, protected, and empowered in safe and resilient communities.

A key highlight of the event was the official unveiling of a commemorative memento by the Chief of Staff, well supported by the Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, symbolising a renewed commitment to collaborative action in advancing the rights and welfare of children in Ghana.

The launch paves the way for strengthened partnerships between the government and development partners, as stakeholders reaffirm their commitment to ensuring that no child is left behind in Ghana’s development journey.
