The Ministry of Interior has officially launched a new Online Digital Service Portal designed to streamline government service delivery, enhance transparency, and improve accessibility for Ghanaians nationwide.

The launch was announced by the Minister for the Interior, Mr Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, at a press briefing on Wednesday in  Accra.

The platform aims to simplify recruitment processes, providing real-time updates, secure document access, and the ability for applicants to apply online or via mobile devices.

Speaking at the briefing, Mr Muntaka emphasised the importance of reducing administrative delays and improving communication with applicants.

“We are confident that this digital approach will continue until all qualified candidates proceed to training without confusion or delays,” he stated, highlighting that the system also prevents unnecessary interference in the application process.

He noted that the newly launched portal will offer a wide range of services across citizenship, migration, security, and specialised regulatory functions.

“Under citizenship and migration services, Ghanaians can now apply for immigration quota permits, renunciation of Ghanaian citizenship, dual nationality registration, citizenship registration for adults and minors, and naturalisation of foreign residents.”

“These services are fully digitised and integrated with the National Identification Authority to ensure accurate verification and secure processing”, the minister said.

According to the minister, the portal will facilitate the licensing of private security organisations, permits for importing and exporting explosives, arms, and ammunition, as well as licenses for firearms and auctioneering services.

Mr Muntaka noted that digitising these services will standardise compliance, strengthen monitoring mechanisms, and enhance national security.

“Specialised services, including permissions related to handling deceased bodies, are also now fully digitised, significantly reducing waiting times for families and easing administrative burdens”, he added.

The Minister highlighted that the portal allows applications to be submitted from any location at any time, with automated payments, secure digital records, and real-time tracking to boost transparency, accountability, and efficiency.

“This achievement reflects strong collaboration between the Ministry, our security agencies, and technical partners,” Mr Muntaka said.

The minister announced that the new digital services portal will be fully operational and accessible to the public starting Monday, 15th December 2025.

He urged the public, private sector, academic institutions, and international partners to embrace the platform and benefit from its convenience and efficiency.
