The Minister for the Interior, Mr. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has inaugurated the Ministry’s Advisory Board to foster continuous engagement between the Ministry and its stakeholders, with a focus on enhancing national security.

The Board, established under Section 39 of the Civil Service Act, 1993 (PNDCL 327), will provide valuable counsel on policy direction, planning objectives, and operational strategies to strengthen the Ministry’s mandate delivery.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday in Accra, the Minister emphasised the importance of collaboration in addressing emerging security challenges, including cybercrime, human trafficking, and the proliferation of arms.

He reiterated the Government’s commitment to retooling all security agencies across the country to enhance their operational effectiveness and enable them to fulfill their mandates.

Mr. Muntaka assured the Board that their contributions and feedback would be highly valued, adding that, together, they aim to leave a lasting legacy that will positively impact both the Ministry and the nation.

It is anticipated that the Board’s diverse membership, comprising security experts, civil society representatives, and other key stakeholders, will provide a platform for collaborative problem-solving and strategic planning.
