The Ghana Police Service has paid tribute to twenty officers who died in various incidents while performing their duties in 2025.
Names of the deceased officers echoed solemnly during a roll call at the 2025 Police Memorial Ceremony, held at the National Police Training School in Tesano, Accra, on Wednesday, December 10.
The ceremony aimed to recognize personnel who gave their lives while protecting and serving the country.
Six of the officers received the distinction of having their names inscribed on the Police Wall of Honour, a structure dedicated to personnel who die during active operations.
The other fourteen officers were entered into the Memorial Book of Honour, which documents officers who die while carrying out official responsibilities.
Each year, the Police Service marks Memorial Day to recognize the ultimate sacrifice made by officers in their work.
The commemoration began in 2014 to honor serving Police officers who die while executing lawful assignments in Ghana, during peacekeeping operations, or on international deployments.
