
Donations for August 6 Helicopter Crash Victims’ Children Reach GHS 3.57 Million
August 29, 2025 News / Top Stories 0 CommentDonations to the Children Support Fund for victims of the August 6 helicopter crash have reached GHS 3,576,600 and US$20,000, according to a public update released by the fund’s coordinator.
The fund was established to ensure the welfare of children of the victims who died in the helicopter crash, which claimed eight lives including the Ministers of Defense and Environment.
Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Coordinator of the Fund, released the donation figures covering the period from August 19 to 28, 2025.
According to the update, 14 donors contributed to the fund during this period, including Ghana Airport Limited, ARB Apex Bank PLC, STL Foundation, Olam Agric, Fidelity Bank Ghana, ADB Bank, GLICO General Insurance, and the National Insurance Commission.
Individual donors listed include Kennedy Hedoe, Peter Adongo, Mensah Michael, Appaul Wiredu Lateef, Samuel Hodalor, and Dauda Iddi.
Dr. Sawyerr said donations can be made through Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited accounts at the Stanbic Heights Branch in Accra. The Ghana Cedi account number is 9040013628372, while the US Dollar account number is 9040013628534.
She said cheques and bank drafts should be made payable to “CHILDREN SUPPORT FUND 6825.”
The coordinator announced that a list of donors will be published on a weekly basis to provide transparency and acknowledge contributors to the fund.
The helicopter crash occurred on August 6, 2025, resulting in the deaths of eight people, creating the need for support for the children left behind by the victims.
