President John Dramani Mahama on Sunday commissioned a new Chancery for Ghana’s Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The project, which started ten years ago in 2016, was completed under his administration.
Present at the ceremony were Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Gedion Timothewos, Ghana’s Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, members of the diplomatic corps in Addis Ababa, and the Ghanaian community in Ethiopia.
The commissioning took place on the sidelines of the 39th Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, where President Mahama led Ghana’s delegation.
The new chancery provides modern facilities for Ghana’s diplomatic operations in Ethiopia, which also serves as the headquarters of the African Union.
