The National Peace Council (NPC) has met with students of Chemu Senior High School in an educational session aimed at promoting discipline, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence within the school community.
Speaking at the event on Tuesday, the Principal Programmes Manager at the NPC, Mr Stephen Amegadzi, educated the students on different forms and causes of conflict. He emphasised the importance of tolerance, responsible behaviour, and nonviolent approaches to addressing grievances.
Mr Amegadzi cautioned students against bringing weapons to school and urged them to stay focused on their studies while using social media responsibly.
The Headmistress, Madam Vincentia Kyere Anin-Agyei, commended the NPC for the initiative and encouraged students to uphold values that foster peace and harmony on campus.
The NPC also recommended the establishment of a Peace Club to support continuous student-led peace initiatives, such as peer support programmes, anti-bullying campaigns, and participation in national and international peace activities.
This engagement forms part of the NPC’s broader efforts to promote peace, tolerance, and nonviolent behaviour across second-cycle institutions nationwide.
